On Sunday 19th October, we went up to the new allotment, having got back from the Algarve on Saturday 18th. We worked hard moving one of the empty raised beds. We managed to put it in place and dig over the soil at the bottom. I then put 2 barrow loads of horse manure and straw on top and we then put all the topsoil from its previous position back into it. It is looking ok, all on its own. Can't wait to get the rest moved over, but that will be more difficult because we have Purple Sprouting and Strawberries in the other two.
Today (21st) I sowed my Broad Beans - Acquadulce Claudia in our new raised bed. We don't have many, but it will be enough for now.
We have a nice shiney new Dalek type compost bin to go up there, but we are not sure where to put it at the moment. Will have to give this some thought and perhaps to draw a plan.
